Cole Intermediate School – will consists of approximately 70,000 square feet of new construction and 18,000 square feet of renovated space from the former C.E. Cole Buildings. The new 88,000 square foot facility will provide 26 classrooms for the regular education program and 8 classrooms for special education classes and resource areas. The classrooms will be housed in a two-story structure situated between the existing gymnasium and what was the Commons Building for C.E. Cole.

Additional educational programs for Art and Music will be located in one-story structures adjacent to the gymnasium. An Instructional Media Center and Computer Lab will be located in a one-story link between the gym and classroom wing. The administrative functions including the main office, guidance offices and nurse's suite are located in the former Commons Building structure.

The gymnasium building will be refurbished with the main improvements being made to the building's infrastructure for heating, ventilation and the addition of air conditioning. The locker rooms will be upgraded and will remain available for the extra-curricular and community activities that occur in the building. Other improvements include a new roof, replacement of the windows with more energy efficient glazing and the addition of a sprinkler system.
